- This is still a big problem according to this article which focuses on practical tips to make sure your e-mails are read in the big 5 readers. Research showing that around half of the emails received from leading consumer-facing organisations in the UK will not display. This occurs, as the sender does not take into account the limitations of their recipients email clients in rendering HTML. This briefing shows you how to ensure your email renders correctly in Hotmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Lotus Notes and AOL.

- These posts on E-consultancy discuss the problem of duplicate counting from different affiliates, paid search, etc. Which is an increasing programme.

- NMA reported possibly the biggest online campaign ever in Europe back in 2004. This was part of the launch campaign for its new K500i multimedia camera phone. Read the article and view the site to see how online/offline marketing with data capture and a viral affect have been combined.

- This updates on 2001 survey referenced in the book. It shows that still, data quality doesn't have a high profile at senior management level in many companies. Although 2 in 5 do have an approved board-level strategy, apparently driven by legal and regulatory compliance.

- Great article from Business Week showing how large scale interactive ad campaigns from brands such as Ford are reaching 50 million users and driving visitors (3,000 per second) and delivering sales (a 6% increase according to Ford). - Updated Google Ranking factors
- It is often said that Google uses over 100 factors in its algorithm to determine the position of a web page in its natural or organic listings for a particular key phrase. This doesn't give 100. First we had the Vaughns ranking factors which was a good list of On and Off page, Positive and Negative and now we have the SEOMOZ list which has 103 with a ranking of the 10 most important - this new list gives a better description of these.

- 2004 Eyetracking study update
- Poynter have been running Eyetracking studies for several years in order to resarch how viewers of media sites interact with them. While behaviour is likely to be different for destination sites, there are still learnings in terms of positioning of key messages, images and copy size that can be gleaned from this research.
