Don't do this - Google bans BMW - SEO cloaking example
In my forthcoming in-depth report for E-consultancy on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), I recommend the need to balance the scale of the opportunities of SEO against the risks. This is certainly a great example of the risks (unless your BMW who across Germany must have lost ten's of thousands of site visitors and potentially thousands of leads during Feb). There has also been discussion in Feb that a major UK SEO company was barred.

Updated Google Ranking factors
It is often said that Google uses over 100 factors in its algorithm to determine the position of a web page in its natural or organic listings for a particular key phrase. This doesn't give 100. First we had the Vaughns ranking factors which was a good list of On and Off page, Positive and Negative and now we have the SEOMOZ list which has 103 with a ranking of the 10 most important - this new list gives a better description of these.
