New law in force Jan 2007 - company information
The 2006 revision to the 1985 Companies Information Act came into force on January 1st 2007 which specifies how UK Limited Companies should display company information on their web sites and within e-mails.
Legal update for site owners and E-mail marketers
The post below from Out-Law clarifies the requirements for web and e-mail:- Relevant information to be given is company registration number, place of registration and registered office address
- Must be available at key points on web site, e.g. contact forms, About, but not required on every page
- Must be shown in E-mail footers (some companies have done this through interpreting the previous law to include e-mails)
